Peer acceptance and family support is the key to social status and mental well being because the mentally unstable people needs both of this to feel wanted back by society or to get cured back and be back to reality.
Firstly,peer acceptance is like vinod with his junior college friends denise and charlie and also his close friend johnson who was avoiding his phone calls and also ignoring him.It shows how the normal people cannot fit in with the truth about someone being off centre they will either try to accept or just ignore the fact about it.
Secondly,family support is the most important because for vinod he really needed and wanted it because his parents are rich and proffesionals and very highly so they tend to just leave vinod and let him be.They want vinod to do well but they do not show affection towards him all he wanted and needed was their parental love but that was the only thing they did'nt gave him.He wanted a hug

In the play Vinod and Mak was the one who exert control in their life towards saloma.They were the one who always trying to change saloma way of life.
Firstly,vinod was the one who wanted to control Saloma he just treated saloma like a stray cat lost in an expressway.He just couldnt let her go and wanted to control everything that goes in her life .When she didnt like it he would change it.
Secondly,saloma's mak was controlling in saloma's choice of friends,her jobs and also her medication that the doctor prescribe.She was rather choosy and used religion as a way to stop her from doing things.She didnt like saloma hanging around with emily and insisted that saloma was'nt crazy and she was rather convincing towards her.

I don't agree that razali plays an important role in the play as he was someone whom Vinods relied on.He was one of the reasons that lead to vinod inevitable end because he was'nt there to protect him when they were robbed but he was one of the causes not the key to it.
Firstly.they met when vinod and saloma was under the void deck.He came to them and talk to vinod about saloma and he started to make jokes.He kept talking and talking to them and he even bought epok2 for saloma -act 2 scene 3 pg 70.It shows how saloma felt that Razali was a father figure for her.

Secondly,the robbery was the crucial part showing about saloma and vinod.At that point of time it was vinod who was the one screaming when the robber actually attack saloma. The robber stole from saloma and said to saloma "your boyfriend coward ah" that was the part that made vinod angry and his mood changes because he only wanted them together with no one else.
thirdly,when vinod went missing for a week.Saloma did not know what to do.So she went to write a letter to the newspaper and also apply for a job and made a bank account..She was helpless.She relied to much on vinod and went she wanted to be independent but vinod was blocking the way.So she decided to do it on her own since emily gan has changed her mindset.

For me the parent child relationship that is going on in vinod's life is one trigger towards vinod inevitable end he wanted parental love but all they given was nothing actually they only cared that he do well but didnt really cared how he felt.They did'nt even talk to him about his opinions.
Firstly,his parents did not really care about vinod. They wanted their son to do well in school and be top just like them.Vinod's parents are so high and busy that he hardly see them everyday they are to preoccupied with their succesful life that they neglected vinod in the process."my parents are hoping i'll get well tmrw and then go abroad to study the next day,graduate on friday,do my masters on saturday and start work as deputy public prosecutor on monday" page 27,act 1 scene 3.
His parents also have applied university for him "in january..i have to go to the states to study"act 5 scene 4 pg 134.They did'nt ask for his opinion or suggestion and just book a university for him they are rather unfair to treat him like that because all he wanted was parental love from him.
Hence parent-child relationship is one of the triggers to vinod inevitable end.
